The Man Who Sold The World on the album Ziggy Played Surf Guitar (2011)
More compilation album action, this time a tribute to the great rock/pop artist David Bowie. LBoP's version of Bowie's The Man Who Sold The World is fairly respectful of the original arrangement (no, not Nirvana's) with a few twists thrown in. This is David Bowie meets Pulp Fiction! Quentin Tarantino, call me!! :)
Stacy's Mom on the album Further Beyond The Sea (2009)
Cordelia Records' follow-up to Beyond The Sea was, naturally, Further Beyond The Sea. In this case, however, the cover tunes had to be from 1990 onward. LBoP chose to cover Fountains of Wayne's 2003 hit Stacy's Mom. The original's slow "Cars" groove was speeded up with Nate providing a driving drum attack befitting an excitable boy discovering for the first time....
Cinnamon Girl on the album Beyond The Sea (2005)
LBOP's version of Neil Young's Cinnamon Girl included in Beyond The Sea was LBoP's first track released anywhere. The compilation album features surf music artists from around the world giving unexpected cover songs their own unique "surf-instro" treatment. A 2nd LBoP track was also released as a free download from the Cordelia Records web site: our version of the mid-60's commercial jingle The Disadvantages Of You. This track resonated with a lot of people, which was surprising.
